pencils, eraser, sharpener, ruler, scrap paper and The Magician's Nephew: essentials for a standardized test

pencils are sharpened. snacks are packed. for most families this 3 day testing is old hat. coloring in tiny circles. for me, it is a day of reckoning. nervous? a little. when you have been your child's only teacher for his whole life, what he knows {or doesn't know} is kinda on your shoulders. in the end i know it's just a silly multiple choice test that is averaged out with other children who live within the 50 states, but i would be lying if i didn't tell you i hope my boys score high. it may be designed to measure their achievement, but it's my ego on the line-that's the ugly, pathetic truth. here's hoping all of their i's get dotted, their t's get crossed and those silly circles get properly darkened. my job is in question-maybe that's a good thing. xo GF
